The Burden of Apostolic Ministries.

My old man is visiting, and he has more connections with churches than I do. At 86 he is still helping many, for he believes he has a calling to support people leaving degeneracy. He has been attacked in the press. Not infrequently. And my secular relatives fear for their safety.

He mentioned that some Anglicans are leaving their church, for they have failed the marriage test, and gone apostate. So they are doing what the Pentecostals do: buying warehouses and modifying them. The old buildings are targets. We are building new ones: the bishops and committees are liberal and converged, and they are being replaced. (I should note that I am not Anglican by background. I grew up in the Presbyterians, and my theology is reformed – but the reformed are being drive out of the mainline Presbyterian church as well).

And this in the face of opposition. The current elite say they hate many things, but it boils down to one: they hate righteousness in practice, for they cannot manage or control those they cannot intimidate, blackmail, and shame into accepting their evil.

It may be that we are facing the burden of apostolic ministries, for our nation has rejected the faith within which it was birthed.

1 Corinthians 4:9-16 9 For I think that God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, like men sentenced to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men. 10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. 11 To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless, 12 and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; 13 when slandered, we entreat. We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things. 14 I do not write these things to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. 15 For though you have countless[a] guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. 16 I urge you, then, be imitators of me.
Well, we may have to love God more than our lives, from Gab.

I am not seeing these in the churches that preach apostolic succession. They account themselves as strong, rich, fed, and part of the elite. They bask in the praise of the propagandists who make up the mainstream media.

Those who are apostles, however, often do not have enough money to feed themselves. They do not have status. The world hates them and calls them scum. But the world, as Bruce Charlton notes, is going demonic.

So we should be 'worried' - or rather not 'worry' (not worry about anything at all, ever) but acknowledge. Indeed we probably ought to  anticipate this kind of thing happening in these End Times. I  think the  valid prophecies seem to suggest that at an advanced stage of the End  Times, mainstream evil will - indeed must - become explicitly demonic,  and positively-evil. We are currently in a transitional phase (an Antichrist phase) when  witchcraft is practiced openly at a huge scale but where magic intent is  denied; where demonic symbolism and rituals are routinely deployed but  made a joke of; where the inversion of virtue, truth and beauty are  normal but claimed to be merely an evolutionary advance upon The (same  old) Good - much as modern conceptual art (e.g. Damian Hurst, Tracy  Emin) is supposed to have evolved from Rembrandt. This corresponds to  the Antichrist pretending to Be Christ. This current phase of open-but-deniable Black Magic is presumably  trending towards a situation in which the motivations are admitted; and  that which is evil is pronounced to be Good. The Antichrist unmasks as  Satan; or is replaced by Satan - and Satan is pronounced to be God, to  be worshipped as God. Unlike this current era of (feigned, dishonest) materialism; the final  phase will be openly supernatural; the reality of God, angels and  demons; souls; and continued life-beyond-death will re-enter mainstream  public discourse - the truth of Spiritual Warfare will be  acknowledged... but all inverted in value. However, this can happen only  when enough people have become very thoroughly corrupted.

In this time, look not at those who get approval from the world. Look at those they hate: those called fundamentalist: those called ignorant, deplorable, poor, anti-modern. They are far more likely to be sane, and far more likely to be righteous.

And those who preach an apostate gospel? Shun. They have given themselves to evil. It is better to associate with those who know that their spirituality cannot save.

For our God indeed is a consuming fire.
