One of the things that annoys me is that the young are being disabused of any hope and thus being turned into political pawns. When I was the age of Greta Thunberg we were worried about thermonuclear destruction and were protesting about the Reagan missile defence system while the ecologists talked about a coming ice age.

I worry far less about what our elite tell us to worry about. Instead I wonder what hidden evil their public piety to Gaia and the progressive cause mask.

And I hope that the young will realize that they have been lied to, for the spirit of this age is evil.

Proverbs 21:10-16
10 The soul of the wicked desires evil;
his neighbour finds no mercy in his eyes.
11 When a scoffer is punished, the simple becomes wise;
when a wise man is instructed, he gains knowledge.
12 The Righteous One observes the house of the wicked;
he throws the wicked down to ruin.
13 Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor
will himself call out and not be answered.
14 A gift in secret averts anger,
and a concealed bribe, strong wrath.
15 When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous
but terror to evildoers.
16 One who wanders from the way of good sense
will rest in the assembly of the dead.

Luke 20:45-21:4

45 And in the hearing of all the people he said to his disciples, 46 “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love greetings in the market-places and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honour at feasts, 47 who devour widows’ houses and for a pretence make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”

21 Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, 2 and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. 3 And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. 4 For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
