This is an age of antinominalism, where the ethics of Satanism is seen as right, proper and tolerant, and woe betide those who talk about the joy of discipline, regularity, routine. Of inclucating godly habits.
Yes, we are saved by Grace, but we are to use that freedom as the spirit of God guides us, and that will never lead us into temptation, but will instead spare us from error.
119 Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord!
2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
who seek him with their whole heart,
3 who also do no wrong,
but walk in his ways!
4 You have commanded your precepts
to be kept diligently.
5 Oh that my ways may be steadfast
in keeping your statutes!
6 Then I shall not be put to shame,
having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules.[b]
8 I will keep your statutes;
do not utterly forsake me!
12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”, for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.
You were born fallen, true, and you have sins that tempt you, often ones that have tempted you for a long time, and you have ungodly habits. Part of sanctification is pruning these, putting off the works of our fallen nature, and substituting them with habits of God.
Most of the time, it is incredibly hard. But we do hard things because they challenge us. We compete for prizes we lose. And this prize is eternal.
And remember this: you were broken not be God. He made you to be glorious and wonderfully beautiful, not broken covergeed, and a beige minion of an uncaring elite.
Do not listen to them. The law is a guide. Listen to it.
