The first thing you need to forget after coming to Christ is your ego. It is not about you. You did not earn your salvation. Yes, God loves you deeply to the point he gave his life in a most painful manner, but it is not about you.

Humility is not a lack of acknowledgement of your talents, but an awareness, of both those and your flaws. If you recall what you do not know, then you find that you are less confident. It is the ignorant who are over confident on the evidence: those who are in the process of doing the work that leads to the aforementioned evidence are much less confident.

Instead it is about Christ and his bride, the church, who is being built up: and these trials may be part of the purification. The people who consider the church a road to power will fall away. But those who know their shepherd will remain with Christ.

And you will know them by their actions.

8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10 For

“Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
11 let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

Many say that they should be judged by their performance, by their deeds. But the same people are regulating the church, despite those who are pushing back. They are using the crisis to move their agenda along, and they forget that the face of the Lord is against evil.

You see, the rules are for others. Hypocrisy is the fuel of virtue signalling, and virtue signals a sign of pride.

Don’t be aligned with such. They will put the burdens of the world — natural and synthetic — upon the peasantry, and not lift a finger to help. And yes, you are peasants, you there to be deceived while they say that they are kind.

And my main issue is to realize that the fear they use to make us comply will lead me to cling to God, and not to any political solution. This season will end when the current evil idols of this time are shown to be false, and that is not yet.

Well said. There are things I used to take pride in that I don’t anymore, primarily because I’m not responsible for them. Credit where credit is due . . .
