A diesel in the shed.

Until ve4y recently, remote farms and stations in NZ had a diesel generator somewhere. The tractor ran o diesel, and they farmer tended to use the same fuel for everything including the station wagon. Diesels are not fussy. if needed, he could use a vegetable oil instead of the stuff from the oil company.

Hat tip Vox Day.

A Diesel in the Shed

You can have your solar panels
and your turbines on the hills;
You can use the warmth of sunshine
to reduce your heating bills.

You can dream you’re self-sufficient
as you weed your vegie bed;
As long as you make sure to keep
A diesel in the shed.
