One of the problems in times of crisis is that we will look for ways to get out of it. All of us: it is now too late to move from where you are as if you are not a local you will either not be let in or you won’t have the alliances we all need to cope.

We moved three years ago. Some families have been here since 1860; some since 1200. The fact Kea’s family has been in the area for about a hundred years helps. I am, however, a JAFA — Just Another Fecking Aucklander, and for many in Otago that is only allowable because I’ve lived and worked in the area for a decade.

So when the false prophet Hananiah speaks, then many want to listen. They hear that God will restore the kingdom, and all will be well.

But in that time he was lying. All was not well — the Kingdom of Judah was in fatal decline. All is not well now.

Jeremiah 28:1-4

28 In that same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourth year, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the Lord, in the presence of the priests and all the people, saying, 2 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. 3 Within two years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon. 4 I will also bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon, declares the Lord, for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”

One of the implications of taking the Lord’s name in vain is not false swearing (which is another commandment or blasphemy. It is speaking words that you claim to be from God when it is your own imaginations. To be a prophet is a fearful thing: I praise him that the gift passed me.

But I can read scripture, and I can see patterns.

And one of the foul consequences of false teaching, false prophecy a,d the embrace of lies which comfort instead of hard truth is that the innocent and the foolish are encouraged to sin. (Not that most of us need encouragement: we all sin.). But that society approves of such, rewards sch, persecutes those who call sin evil, and will not allow the word of God to stand.

And when that happens, pray for revival. The alternative is that God removes the lampstand of that nation before him. Nations do rise and fall.

Luke 17:1-4

17 And he said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin[a] are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come! 2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung round his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. 3 Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, 4 and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent’, you must forgive him.”

I’ve held off using this quote for a few days. Adam is correct in this: there are false prophets, false priests, false pastors who will preach any thing but the truth. Almost all leaders have off days and will be accountable for such, which is why us pew-sitters need to test every utterance that claims to interpret scripture against scripture itself.

Bloggers included.

We are on this earth to be tested. Do you fall for the lies or do you rise to the truth? Do you hold fast in the midst of the enemy psy ops or do you succumb to the falsehoods and betray your own convictions? There are so very few of us in comparison to their endless numbers. How glorious it is to be one of the very few. The multitudes morph together in a desperate attempt to gain validation in numbers. The grey crowd of empty NPCs stretches numberless to the horizon. They are the lost ones, the zombies of our time. But the shades of grey are not uniform, and those among you who consider yourselves to be on the side of good are simply tools for the enemy.

Years ago I started off writing about video games and chicks and now here we are. It’s been a hell of a ride. And it’s only just beginning. And I, for one, am thankful. If I’m going to go down then I’ll drag it all down with me. Let it burn. And then let God sort us all out. But for those of you who are all too willing to throw the baby out with the bath water for the sake of idolized foundations of sand, please be my guest. If you’re looking for an excuse to cop out then the world has plenty for you to choose from.

Maybe that’s a sign in of itself. Don’t look for perfection here on earth. Look for men who stand and fight. Who hold fast. And if you can’t or you aren’t willing to do that then maybe you’re too short for this ride.

It is a time to back all those who are of Christ, who defend Christ. Ignore the denominations and the sectariah church history of the Victorians. The agenda of this time is to destroy the Church, root and branch: if they cannot converge the Mainline Prots and the Churchian Pentecostals they will try to jail the Orthodox, the Reformed, the Traditional Catholics and the hardcore Nondenominationals, because they are badthinkers: they say Christ is Lord.

They want to destroy our children, our frail, and anyone who is against their progression towards hell.

We are called not to be like them. It is time to stand.

My first time to see Bible verses on blogs. This just made my day. During our hard times like the present situation, it is so good to hear the Word of God. Such wonderful promises!
