There is a lot of stuff happening at present. The progressive project has taken the war from the conquered heights of twitter and Facebook (now being boycotted for a lack of wokeness) to the streets. There are prophets and rumours and statements that seem to contradict each other.

Many people are preaching revival, and I pray that they are preaching true. Others are saying (particularly the politicians) that this will be over, we will recover and all will be well. That I doubt. This is a time of testing, and we have to test each feeling and every statement that is said.

Be very careful of those who sound spiritual. Who claim to have certainty. Who do not confess to their doubt and failing. Too often they are preaching themselves, and not Christ.

1 John 4:1-6

4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. 4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

One error is to ever consider that God is not in control. He has told us the end: the delay of the day of the Lord is for our mercy.

So test all. See if they will confirm that Christ is Lord, and that they will say the creed without hesitation.

And do not listen to those who cavil, dodge and divert. We are not to be like them: we are instead to speak plain.

And proclaim Christ is Lord.
