Kea’s worried about me. I spend most of the time when the news on in rage. Anger at the hypocrisy of the elite, who accuse us of hatred, racism, and that the sins of our fathers or the virtue of those before us should be attribtued to us. As if the statues we have modify our behaviour.

They are blind, stupid, and pagan. But I guess pulling down statues is something easier than letting justice roll like a river when you are a corrupt as Huey Long.

Chicago has been plagued by riots, vandalism, looting and arson — to say nothing of homicide, which has increased more than 30 percent, with 434 people killed so far this year — but Mayor Lori Lightfoot has solved the problem by eliminating the statues that were causing it:

What we need to remind ourselves is that we are not accountable for the sins of our fathers, but for our own. At times, reminding those in power of this will shorten our lives. But we were not promised blessings and a long life. We were told we would know the truth, and the truth would set us free.

Acts 7:44-53

44 “Our fathers had the tabernacle of testimony in the wilderness, just as He who spoke to Moses directed him to make it according to the pattern which he had seen. 45 And having received it in their turn, our fathers brought it in with Joshua upon dispossessing the nations whom God drove out before our fathers, until the time of David. 46 David found favor in God’s sight, and asked that he might find a dwelling place for the God of Jacob. 47 But it was Solomon who built a house for Him. 48 However, the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the prophet says:

49 ‘Heaven is My throne,
And earth is the footstool of My feet;
What kind of house will you build for Me?’ says the Lord,
‘Or what place is there for My repose?
50 ‘Was it not My hand which made all these things?’

51 “You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did. 52 Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become; 53 you who received the law as ordained by angels, and yet did not keep it.”

Ignore those who bless or damn you for your skin colour, for how your ancestors arrived, and who claim you have privilege because your parents were faithful to their vows and raised you right. Ignore their advice. They want to ruin you.

Do not listen to their history: it is a series of convenient lies.

Instead cling to Christ, and seek the truth. You are accountable before God for yourself: let not this world attribute their evil to you. For we are not to carry that burden, we are not their allies, and we are not called to be like them.
