We are not in crisis, not yet, locally. Instead we have an election campaign, with the requisite graffiti, and my understanding from those who are still on facebook is that if you dare oppose Jacinda, the infernal saviour of the nation from the virus, you will be hated. It is seen as not being kind, and hatred is demanded, so that all on social media know that you are a good progressive. They fear Judith, the leader of the opposition party, because she does not care about their virtue signals. Jacinda talks Kindness, COVID and the need for masks: Judith talks roads and the need for an exit strategy. For this time will end.

Other places are doing it much harder than we are here. We have been talking to friends in North America, and the reports from the coast are not good. We have friends involved in what was one of our biggest earner — tourism, which now is producing less economic activity than the Beirut port.

And we need to pray more.

For trials come, and they do end.

Psalm 18:1-19

For the choir director. A Psalm of David the servant of the Lord, [a]who spoke to the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. And he said,

18 “I love You, O Lord, my strength.”
2 The Lord is my [b]rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
And I am saved from my enemies.

4 The cords of death encompassed me,
And the torrents of [c]ungodliness [d]terrified me.
5 The cords of [e]Sheol surrounded me;
The snares of death confronted me.
6 In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried to my God for help;
He heard my voice out of His temple,
And my cry for help before Him came into His ears.

7 Then the earth shook and quaked;
And the foundations of the mountains were trembling
And were shaken, because He was angry.
8 Smoke went up [f]out of His nostrils,
And fire from His mouth devoured;
Coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down
With thick darkness under His feet.
10 He rode upon a cherub and flew;
And He sped upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness His hiding place, His [g]canopy around Him,
Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
12 From the brightness before Him passed His thick clouds,
Hailstones and coals of fire.
13 The Lord also thundered in the heavens,
And the Most High uttered His voice,
Hailstones and coals of fire.
14 He sent out His arrows, and scattered them,
And lightning flashes in abundance, and [h]routed them.
15 Then the channels of water appeared,
And the foundations of the world were [i]laid bare
At Your rebuke, O Lord,
At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.

16 He sent from on high, He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy,
And from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
But the Lord was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a broad place;
He rescued me, because He delighted in me.

2 Peter 2:4-10

4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; 7 and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men 8 (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), 9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who [c]indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority.

Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic [d]majesties,

There are many who want us to return to lockdown, and let the progressives just run everything into the ground. We can see that also. It won’t continue, not because people won’t continue in their lies and ideology, but because no society can function unless things get done: the Trash is collected, the plumbing works, the roof is repaired, and the markets are fairly honest. Ideally, the nation has people proclaiming Christ crucified, running schools that teach the laws of nature and God, and allowing places where young people can be young people with rules that limit severe consequences.

But we don’t have that. We need to rebuild it. This is a time when all rules are removed until you see Nature red in tooth and claw and find yourself offended by that.

So we need to hunker down. If the Lord could preserve Noah and Lot, he can preserve us. But it is time to ensure that we are not compromised and converged by the coporate globalist rainbow spirit sent from the pit, a series of lies, proclaimed as the spirit of this age.

UPDATE: Adjusted date.
Sermon today about dreaming, and walking with God towards where he wants you to be, which is greater than you think.
