We are not to be as the unbelievers, because being a member of the current pagan chattering class is to be unwell, or to be living in fear of those who are unwell. The culture is atomizing those who are functional, and therefore can be accused, deplatformed, and hated by the woke who rejoice in their disability.

But bad economic times are here and they are not going away soon. Being dysfunctional does not work outside a welfare state, and only rich countries can afford one of those. The current discussion of toxic environments by those who cannot and will not forgave leads to a more poisonous culture of work.

We have raised one, arguably two generations of children and adult children to be so fragile, so dysfunctional, and so angry, that if things don’t go precisely their way at all times they will tear down and destroy whatever organization they’re with. That Facebook division likely couldn’t function for a week or so I’d imagine. KU administrators had to look at the absurd-but-real fact that their entire football season would be canceled, not to mention their entire class of 2020 walking out of them over a bleeping tweet. Some idiot guys did something inappropriate which triggered the sensibilities of 36 people to the point they had to shut down an otherwise successful show. And an entire city is so brainwashed, so dysfunctional, so delusional, that even when an accused bad cop is arrested and facing charges, EVEN WHEN THE COPS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANOTHER MAN’S SUICIDE, they still shut down the city, concluding rioting, looting, and burning buildings is the logical solution.

There are hundreds of examples, but what you are witnessing is a generation or two of Americans who are no longer capable of having a civilized society. A group of NPC robots programmed to put their politics, victimhood, ideology, envy, and virtue signaling ahead of logic, ethics, legal behavior, law and order, or even the rights of their fellow man. And while people are dumb and can’t get my order right three times at the Casper, Wyoming Subway, these latest two generations of Americans are simply feral and dysfunctional adult children who are driven by a mentally ill ideology and not reality. And so what you’re witnessing is not so much people driving slow in the left lane or the post office losing an occasional package, but a decay into a second world country with all of it’s rights and privileges.

I have had, this week, a couple of wise people say: hunker down. Do no say anything. There are those who would destroy you because you say what is true. Because you stand up for others.

I am seeing functional people ghosting.

While our pagan leaders start everything in Maori. This is a power play: they don’t know what they are saying, and they do not consider the animist beliefs of the Maori or the incoherent hatred of the Muslims to be of any significance. (I should add that there are many faithful Maori Christians, but our leaders have an especial hatred for them)

For know this: God will treat us as we treat others, and he does not care about the surfeit of words of justification.

Matthew 6:7-15

7 “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. 8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

9 “Pray, then, in this way:

‘Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 ‘Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.
12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]

14 For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

At around this point Kea reminds asks me about how I feel about those who have wronged me. Astute woman. She knows there is a list, fairly long. But I choose not to seek revenge, or weaponized lawsuits. Because that will destroy me.

What we recall is at the sentencing of Brendon Tarrant the number of people who — as relatives of those killed praying in a mosque — who demanded that he be sent to hell was significant. Some forgave, yes. But those who sought revenge looked ugly.

And if we go too academic we get into fights and divisions that make us look ugly.

I tend to believe that the modern church has gotten distracted in all the discussion of ancestral sin vs. original sin, monergism vs. synergism, free-will vs. predestination, and so on. These philosophical exercises have all produced continual schisms and divisions within the Body of Christ, leading to Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Calvinism, Lutheranism, Armenianism, and so on, and resulting in a thousand different sects and denominations. I do not mean to say that any of these are false heresies, but that they are merely academic models of Christianity as a religion. These concepts may help one understand and communicate what they are experiencing in their own spiritual lives, but seldom does a theological argument convince anyone to believe in Christ. (Wintery Knight might disagree.)

It is our ability to forgive and to love that is the most powerful witness. The pagans will hate. The pagans will glory in their sin, demand we call ugliness beauty, truth lies, and dysfunction the epitome of the human experience.

They demand the lie because they see this as a demonstration of power. But this is ephemeral.

We need to seek the eternal. A fairly reliable rule is to not be like them.
