In much of the Commonwealth, today is Armistice Day. it recalls the end of the great war, when the Aristocratic system that had ruled the empires of Europe was exhausted, and the Germans and Austrians ran out of material and men. It was a disaster for Germany, and not much better for Britain and France. It led to a generation who wanted peace regardless of the provocation.

Until they were forced to fight. There are those who say we are very close, int the West to fighting again. Wars, are what is prophesied, and the lies that lead to war.

The enemy does not like to be effectively mocked, which is why the meme wars have been so entertaining. But the enemy hates above all else to be ignored. The best thing that we can do to counter the bastards is to effectively disseminate our own ideas while giving no oxygen to their own. And this is also a challenge for us as it is easier to mock than to build. How many times have we heard a young man ask in exasperation just what he is supposed to do? Guidance and mentorship is what we should be engaged in while we selectively attack the enemy when needed with overwhelming force.

IT is very hard to build, agreed. But we may have to. For the nations of this world will be riled with God, until he shows his power. He is delaying justice for one reason, and that is mercy.

Joel 3:9-21

9 Proclaim this among the nations:
Consecrate for war;
stir up the mighty men.
Let all the men of war draw near;
let them come up.
10 Beat your ploughshares into swords,
and your pruning-hooks into spears;
let the weak say, “I am a warrior.”
11 Hasten and come,
all you surrounding nations,
and gather yourselves there.
Bring down your warriors, O Lord.
12 Let the nations stir themselves up
and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
for there I will sit to judge
all the surrounding nations.
13 Put in the sickle,
for the harvest is ripe.
Go in, tread,
for the wine press is full.
The vats overflow,
for their evil is great.
14 Multitudes, multitudes,
in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near
in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and the moon are darkened,
and the stars withdraw their shining.
16 The Lord roars from Zion,
and utters his voice from Jerusalem,
and the heavens and the earth quake.
But the Lord is a refuge to his people,
a stronghold to the people of Israel.

17 “So you shall know that I am the Lord your God,
who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain.
And Jerusalem shall be holy,
and strangers shall never again pass through it.
18 “And in that day
the mountains shall drip sweet wine,
and the hills shall flow with milk,
and all the stream beds of Judah
shall flow with water;
and a fountain shall come forth from the house of the Lord
and water the Valley of Shittim.
19 “Egypt shall become a desolation
and Edom a desolate wilderness,
for the violence done to the people of Judah,
because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20 But Judah shall be inhabited for ever,
and Jerusalem to all generations.
21 I will avenge their blood,
blood I have not avenged,
for the Lord dwells in Zion.”

Matthew 24:29-35

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32 “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

If we look at the current news, we see only what the spirit of this age wants us to see. But there are ongoing battles. The flaws of the enemy are bcoming obvious. Big social media is frightening the progressives as much as the deplorables, because if Twitter can censor Trumps tweets Facebook can also edit or delete Jacina arferb’s Facebook/Instagram chats to her followers.

Too good a meme not to use.

There is a shift, and there will be more shifts. The nations will have rejected Christ to the point where there is no one left to save, which is why they will fear his return.

In the meantime, we need to pray. For revival, beginning in us. For without a fervent love of God this world will wear you down. And that we prepare. This state is fragile. The church is not at all fragile: instead the more it is battered the stronger it becomes. And when the sate ends, the church will be left.

Not merely at the end of the age, but now. When the state no longer can provide help and food and shelter and guidance and education — and it is failing in all these right now — the Church can because we are small communities meeting together and we don’t need big agendas. We just help.

And God will be given the glory.

I assume Simon was talking about this sentence:

“and the Germans and Australians ran out of lmatraial and men”

Noted. Sentence corrected: it was the Austrians who were starving as well

Please, they were Austrians that were on the losing side in the First World War, not Australians.
