I think I need to put a linkage page up today as well, to keep the noise down. We have given up watching the news, and this week it bit me twice: A city in the North Island had a considerably large flood and my sister and Mum are visiting it this weekend for a garden tour. So they did the sane thing. They telephoned a cousin who lives there, and it appears that the flood was localized. Talking to Dad a couple of nights ago, they are safe in dry accommodation, and the tour is still on.
The second was that there has been another community outbreak of COVID and so our minister of COVID response, Chris Hipkins, gave a press conference. I listened, and that was a mistake. I got angry. because of the lies, the lies. He wants us to wear masks, He wants unity behind his agenda. But the same government hates the church and wants us gone.
I find it easier and quicker to look up Red Radio for the official word and then read the press release. But it appears that most of this is lies. I think Bruce is correct here: it all comes form the father of lies, and the more ridiculous and evil the accepted narrative is, the more that infernal being is pleased.
The masses have currently chosen to believe the Big Lies that they are being-saved from fake catastrophic threats, just as they previously chose to believe the Lies that they were being-offered an engineered hedonic paradise of peace, comfort, prosperity and fun (sex, drugs, rock-and-roll) in this mortal life.
In sum, the demotivated and cowardly masses – who reject God, creation, purpose and meaning – have willingly being seduced into an inverted value system; underpinned merely by extreme selfish, short-termism.
Yet the Establishment have also chosen to live by Big Lies – only these are different Lies. Distracted by the satisfaction of manipulating, exploiting and tormenting the masses; scornfully prideful at seeing through the Big Lies They peddle to the gullible masses – the Establishment are themselves also being gullibly manipulated, exploited and tormented… by their Satanic masters.
This can be seen in many ways and at many levels; but the point I want to make here is that the Great- Reset/ Agenda 2030 is not possible, will not work – and very obviously so. Their Big Plan for The Wold is airy-fairy, incoherent nonsense.
There are so many reasons why this is the case, that it seems incredible that the Establishment cannot see it for themselves – but the reason for this extreme self-blindness is ultimately the same reason why the masses are self-blinded and unable to discern the obvious.
Seduced by their own fantasies; and the pervasiveness and depth of hype/ spin/ propaganda and outright-lies that swamp public discourse – including science, academia, research, economics, engineering, logistics, the media etc – the Establishment grossly overestimates its own capability.
Yes these people are over confident, and they think that what they say will be what happens. Not so. People are generally more concerned with those around them and caring for each other. There is still a natural decency and fairness which at times mean the rules are bent to help people out of difficulties. People are more clever than a tricky virus. A wise officer does not give an order to a soldier that will not be obeyed. Our rulers are not wise, and dealing with this level of stupidity is exhausting.
I can’t look at the news anymore as I feel like this is giving me a cancer. But I can’t sleep well at night, either. I wake up and pray and pray, at some point exhaustion wins and I have an uneasy sleep, dreaming horrible stuff about a demented nincompoop now President, and a harpy laughing like the evil witch in a cheap movie.
I have lost 2 kilos in a few days out of sheer inquietude, then gained them again as it was clear that Trump really wanted to fight this to the end.
Most of all I blame myself for – besides praying, of course – not being able to abandon myself to God’s perfect Will. “Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry” has become “Pray, Worry, and Don’t Sleep”. Working on it, though.
I know what it is not to sleep. To dream of war and like it, when you know war would be terrible. To see the coming implosion of empire, and to know that this inevitably leads to ethnic cleansing. When the British left India, millions died as the Hundos and Muslims killed the minority in the other religion, village by village, state by state. This is still going on in the formerly Soviet parts of the Balkans And the neighbouring Turkic republics..
War is terrible, but if a nation rejects God, worse than war happens.
10 “Behold, the day! Behold, it comes! Your doom has come; the rod has blossomed; pride has budded. 11 Violence has grown up into a rod of wickedness. None of them shall remain, nor their abundance, nor their wealth; neither shall there be pre-eminence among them. 12 The time has come; the day has arrived. Let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn, for wrath is upon all their multitude. 13 For the seller shall not return to what he has sold, while they live. For the vision concerns all their multitude; it shall not turn back; and because of his iniquity, none can maintain his life.
14 “They have blown the trumpet and made everything ready, but none goes to battle, for my wrath is upon all their multitude. 15 The sword is without; pestilence and famine are within. He who is in the field dies by the sword, and him who is in the city famine and pestilence devour. 16 And if any survivors escape, they will be on the mountains, like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each one over his iniquity. 17 All hands are feeble, and all knees turn to water. 18 They put on sackcloth, and horror covers them. Shame is on all faces, and baldness on all their heads. 19 They cast their silver into the streets, and their gold is like an unclean thing. Their silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord. They cannot satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it. For it was the stumbling block of their iniquity. 20 His beautiful ornament they used for pride, and they made their abominable images and their detestable things of it. Therefore I make it an unclean thing to them. 21 And I will give it into the hands of foreigners for prey, and to the wicked of the earth for spoil, and they shall profane it. 22 I will turn my face from them, and they shall profane my treasured place. Robbers shall enter and profane it.
23 “Forge a chain! For the land is full of bloody crimes and the city is full of violence. 24 I will bring the worst of the nations to take possession of their houses. I will put an end to the pride of the strong, and their holy places shall be profaned. 25 When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there shall be none. 26 Disaster comes upon disaster; rumour follows rumour. They seek a vision from the prophet, while the law perishes from the priest and counsel from the elders. 27 The king mourns, the prince is wrapped in despair, and the hands of the people of the land are paralysed by terror. According to their way I will do to them, and according to their judgements I will judge them, and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
43 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”
The trouble is that most of us have rejected God. To do that , we must lie. To ourselves. By choosing to lie, we have allowed ourselves to lose wisdom, which allows uos not merely to see the truth but to do something about it.
There’s never a despised, moustache-twirling villain hatching a devious plan to take control of the country until he’s stymied at the last minute by the Famous Four.
Rather, the Famous Four agree over steaming mugs of hot chocolate and thick chunks of warm toast dripping with butter that the strong man is in fact a fine fellow and they wish he’d crack down harder on their enemies, especially those suspicious foreign-looking men who are forever creeping around the English countryside.
The Bolsheviks had enough backing among key workers to seize control of the government and enough support among the peasants to win the Civil War.
Hitler never quite won an outright majority through fair elections, but he had sufficient public support to gain power among a population exhausted by chaos, poverty and humiliation.
As for the Boss himself, no one blinked when Isaias took control of Eritrea after winning the war of independence. Many already knew of his dictatorial and murderous propensities, but what of it? He was a national hero!
If you look around the world today, you’ll see that the heavy-handed leaders cracking down on cafes and recreational sport are receiving accolades from most of their frightened constituents.
In fact, now that I think of it, current totalitarian leaders are quite a bit more popular than the historical average for incoming dictators.
An exception is the Victorian premier. He scared the horses a bit too much and now they’re angry with him because, despite one of the most insane lockdowns on Earth, there are still around ten new infections per day.
The current situation in Victoria and the USA are showing us what happens when hubris goes toxic. The same thing is happening with big media, big social media, and within the academy because they think they can make us better regardless of the cost.
To that Idol do not bow down. Serve God. Do not rely on wealth or might, but in the power of prayer, for God will then provide you with what is needful to give him glory.
For we should live so in all things we glorify God. The fact that we do not means we still have a work of reformation in our own lives, in our churches. May this happen, and may that zeal reform our nations.
