I have to thank Adam, who as a good son of the Roman Church does read things written by faithful priests and prelates. The issues we face at the moment are not the results of a rational set of choices, but are part of a global plan to engineer a complaint world population, afraid of viruses, and compliant with a technocratic tyranny.
As I said when I wrote my letter to you in June, this historical moment sees the forces of Evil aligned in a battle without quarter against the forces of Good; forces of Evil that appear powerful and organized as they oppose the children of Light, who are disoriented and disorganized, abandoned by their temporal and spiritual leaders.
Daily we sense the attacks multiplying of those who want to destroy the very basis of society: the natural family, respect for human life, love of country, freedom of education and business. We see heads of nations and religious leaders pandering to this suicide of Western culture and its Christian soul, while the fundamental rights of citizens and believers are denied in the name of a health emergency that is revealing itself more and more fully as instrumental to the establishment of an inhuman faceless tyranny.
Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano
When I was a kid we called this fascism. We now call this progressive, and it must be praised. The local pastorate and priesthood have to bow to the public health officials and if even Christmas is cancelled, so be it. All debate — and there is debate — has to be quashed.
For it is deemed that the people do not want truth, but lies, delivered to them, engineered for them, so that we remain at peace. Regardless of the cost.
The cost is that people — politicians, technocrats — have removed themselves from cultre and faith and the structure that makes a society and see that is fungible. It is not. I real life we all have skin the the game, when it comes to our families and neigbourhood.
And our souls. When lies are preached as truth, God gets quite irate.
18 “But even in those days, declares the Lord, I will not make a full end of you. 19 And when your people say, ‘Why has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ you shall say to them, ‘As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve foreigners in a land that is not yours.’”
20 Declare this in the house of Jacob;
proclaim it in Judah:
21 “Hear this, O foolish and senseless people,
who have eyes, but see not,
who have ears, but hear not.
22 Do you not fear me? declares the Lord.
Do you not tremble before me?
I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea,
a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass;
though the waves toss, they cannot prevail;
though they roar, they cannot pass over it.
23 But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart;
they have turned aside and gone away.
24 They do not say in their hearts,
‘Let us fear the Lord our God,
who gives the rain in its season,
the autumn rain and the spring rain,
and keeps for us
the weeks appointed for the harvest.’
25 Your iniquities have turned these away,
and your sins have kept good from you.
26 For wicked men are found among my people;
they lurk like fowlers lying in wait.
They set a trap;
they catch men.
27 Like a cage full of birds,
their houses are full of deceit;
therefore they have become great and rich;
28 they have grown fat and sleek.
They know no bounds in deeds of evil;
they judge not with justice
the cause of the fatherless, to make it prosper,
and they do not defend the rights of the needy.
29 Shall I not punish them for these things?
declares the Lord,
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?”
30 An appalling and horrible thing
has happened in the land:
31 the prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule at their direction;
my people love to have it so,
but what will you do when the end comes?
The last two verses describe my nation. We like unity, and lies that make us appear to be world beaters… at anything. We have to agree. We are circumspect at the best of times, passive aggressive most of the time, and under stress tell multiple untruths. Se cannot handle truth. It is far too rude.
What Kiwis need is an honest conversation with themselves. Frankly, if there is one thing New Zealanders are pathologically unable to do, it is an honest national conversation. Not even close.
Our small population size has fostered a social conformity that makes it hard to speak one’s mind. With two-degrees-of-separation, you cannot afford to burn bridges. And given our latent inferiority complex, we don’t publicly admit to our problems.
This is a fatal error. If you don’t know what the problem is, you cannot change it. The first issue with repentance is knowing that you have sinned, then being horrified by the sin, then changing, by the grace of God, behaviour around this. Our houses are too expensive — Holdbrooke in the linked article is correct. Perhaps the church needs to buy some land, build some houses, and sell them at less than cost. Perhaps we need to buy some motels and refurbish them as student accommodation. We have a problem with poverty and neglect of children: perhaps we should support mothers to stay home and cre for their children. Perhaps we should not live as this world. This may mean empowering businessmen to hire young men at a decent wage, so that they can, with careful budgeting, support a family. Nothing new here. This is sustainable — if you look at the Mennonites and other nonconformist churches, they have done this generation after generation.
But that is hard, and it will bring opposition. Kiwis like consensus: on these issues there is no consensus. We must never forget we are in a spiritual war.
13 And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. 14 For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea. For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, 15 who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all mankind 16 by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved—so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. But wrath has come upon them at last!
17 But since we were torn away from you, brothers, for a short time, in person not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face, 18 because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us. 19 For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you? 20 For you are our glory and joy.
So the answer here is hard work, prayer, tears and struggle. it is not a magic formula. I is not clever rhetoric. It is living what one says. It will be opposed. There will be a spiritual struggle.
But the alternative is tide. It is a systemic litany of fraud. It is the destruction of wealth, hope and dreams. For without truth, which means without God, everything is fake.
The big players who make up the bulk of ad buying are starting to figure out that web traffic is not all it is claimed to be. Placing ads on a social media platform is worse than a waste of money. If a company made a video of the executive burning piles of their cash and then posted it on YouTube, they would get more sales from that video than running a regular YouTube ad. Eventually, this becomes obvious to everyone and the ad market on-line begins to dry up for these sites.
The real value in these internet properties, obviously, is in the data they steal from users and sell to governments and corporations. Like the ad business, the fraud in this data will eventually become an issue. We very well may be seeing the high water point for the big social media players. Like the market for certain types of art, the inability to tell the real thing from the fakes will collapse the market. In the end, it will not be public contempt but their own shenanigans that ends their reign of terror.
We need to accept that there is a consequence for society becoming apostate. There will be a faithful remnant. Pray that you are in it. Start preparing for difficulty if not frank persecution. And then, may we repent, go back to when life was saner, and then take that hard road that leads to a fulfilling life, bringing Glory to God.
And this elite and their minions? May the Lord keep them well away from us.
