A couple of days ago I was at work and my bullshit meter went off. The details did not matter: what did is that the next managerial review was trying to get us to do more and be more accessible at the same time that care is being rationed as a means of survival.
Five. Line. Email. Sent. Because if you want a more accessible service you need to give what it takes to have that happen. Then I don’t sleep for two nights. I was not kind to the managers, who are deeply woke. I spoke the truth.
In real life, I am in a position more akin to Obadiah, trying to protect and preserve people, though the senior management have the spinal integrity of overcooked pasta, and our rulers are woke. We all know we can be thrown under the bus at any moment.
So here is another ugly truth. We deserve the leaders we have, for we have rejected God. And the leaders will get the economic decline and disaster they promised we would not have, for they lie, and they are apostate.
There are some who stand and protect. Those people need our prayers. But most of the bureaucracy won’t care when evil becomes institutionalised.
18 Now it happened after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, “Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will provide rain on the face of the earth.” 2 So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria. 3 Ahab summoned Obadiah, who was in charge of the household. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly; 4 for when Jezebel killed the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in a cave, and provided them with bread and water.) 5 Then Ahab said to Obadiah, “Go through the land to all the springs of water and to all the river valleys; perhaps we will find grass and keep the horses and mules alive, and not have to kill some of the cattle.” 6 So they divided the land between them to survey it; Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.
7 Now as Obadiah was on the way, behold, Elijah met him, and he recognized him and fell on his face and said, “Is it you, Elijah my master?” 8 And he said to him, “It is I. Go, say to your master, ‘Behold, Elijah is here.’” 9 But he said, “What sin have I committed, that you are handing your servant over to Ahab, to put me to death? 10 As surely as the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom to which my master has not sent word to search for you; and whenever they say, ‘He is not here,’ he makes the kingdom or nation swear that they could not find you. 11 Yet now you are saying, ‘Go, say to your master, “Behold, Elijah is here!”’ 12 And it will come about when I leave you that the Spirit of the Lord will carry you to where I do not know; so when I come and inform Ahab and he cannot find you, he will kill me, though I, your servant, have feared the Lord from my youth. 13 Has it not been reported to my master what I did when Jezebel killed the prophets of the Lord, that I hid a hundred prophets of the Lord by fifties in a cave, and provided them with bread and water? 14 Yet now you are saying, ‘Go, say to your master, “Behold, Elijah is here”’; he will then kill me!” 15 Then Elijah said, “As surely as the Lord of armies lives, before whom I stand, I will certainly present myself to him today.” 16 So Obadiah went to meet Ahab and informed him; then Ahab went to meet Elijah.
17 When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Is this you, the cause of disaster to Israel?” 18 He said, “I have not brought disaster to Israel, but you and your father’s house have, because you have abandoned the commandments of the Lord and you have followed the Baals.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
We are in a battle. The war is still cold, and there will be those who will try to make it hot. There are those who want to shame us out of our salvation. And there are those who just want us to get addicted to something and shut up.
But we are on this planet, right now, for this time. Some of us are Elisha. Some of us are Obadiah. But the side we are in is the side of God. Do not let people distract you by saying that one can compromise, or that there was this scandal and you are responsible for it.
The people of evil are converged with the spirit of this age. And they are the trouble of the nation. Any nation. So let us not worship the Baals of this time — abortion, euthanasia, libertarianism, and the rainbow of perversion — and let us worship God alone.
