The digital purge.

If anyone was notiiing today, there have been periods when this site was down today. I was working on the server side: updating the operating system and generally tidying things up. This has been delayed overlong, and today was it.

I’ve also been spending a lot of time looking at how to get google out of as much of my life as possible. I have web crawler blocks here, and though the SEO does link to google and bing (which is new) and there is a GDPR consent form in place, the underlying stack has not changed that much.

What has happened, and is happening, is that the communication systems we have are falling over. Big tech has started banning those they don’t like and that means that they don’t have universal reach.

There is a clear purge of social media happening right now. A lot of people have followed President Trump into being a facebook nonperson and a Twitter exile. Parler has lost its servers (thank you very much Amazon Web Services). Gab cannot use Paypal or Visa or Mastercard or bank transfer: to pay for things you have to use bitcoin or a cheque in the mail. (The latter won’t work: cheques are redundant in NZ).

I don’t think anyone except the Silicon Valley oligarchs, who no doubt had this planned well in advance, and Vox Day, who had expected this for some time – expected the whole sale purging of conservative & populist accounts from social media that’s taken place this week. President Trump, Lin Wood, Sidney Powell, and General Flynn, to say nothing of such badthinkers as the #WalkAway group on Facebook, have all found their Twitter and Facebook accounts shut down. Not content with that, Apple and Google both dropped the Parler app from their app stores, and to make sure you proles get the message, Amazon Web Services is terminating Parler’s contract as of Sunday, which means they’ll be offline for at least a week while they try to find alternative hosting. I’d be willing to bet that even if they do succeed in finding/building infrastructure to replace what they had on AWS, they’re going to get the same treatment Gab got – people trying to support them with their credit and debit cards will be blocked, hosting services that agree to host them will be pressured to drop them, and every means short of actual physical violence will be used to drive them out of business. For that matter, after the Antifa/BLM riots of this past summer, it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Cuban-style “divine mobs” used to destroy server farms belonging to companies hosting websites deemed guilty of “sedition”, “incitement”, or whatever excuse people like Maxine Waters want to use.

The saddest words on Screen and Pen is that Vox Day was right again. He does not want to be correct, but he was. Again. So let’s see what he is now saying.

More is coming. Don’t be complacent. Don’t wait around on ground you have no intention of defending. Don’t give up any ground you intend to keep without being the hard out. And above all, support the alternative platforms. Because if you don’t, there won’t be anything left for you. Don’t kid yourself, the SJW corpocracy knows everything about who you are, they know that you are not on their side, and they have absolutely no intention of sparing you or permitting you to submit in the future.

Cam Slater, who is fairly mainstream, is worried. he’s trying to build an app for his site. He’s gone on Parler, but I think that that will fall over really soon. And some of his choices are not mine. Telegram is used locally, and it works with Arch Linux. If you use Brave you can switch Instragram, Faebook,, Twitter and Google off. This means you won’t load embedded codes, which is probably better.

Given Big Tech’s assault on freedom, I’ve selected a few alternative outlets which we will endeavour to push our content to. We can no longer trust Google, Apple, Facebook or Twitter to provide the services freedom-loving conservatives need. Where possible we need to prepare for life without using Big Tech. I’ve already added Parler links to subscribe to. You can go directly to The BFD profile with this link: I have also set up a Gab profile for The BFD, which can be found here: We have also set up a Rumble account for video dissemination. I’m conflicted over finding something to replace Gmail, but I am now sufficiently exercised to look into alternatives. ProtonMail looks promising. I’m more and more coming to the conclusion that we should spend the money required to turn MyBFD into an app. Twitter and Facebook and by extension WhatsAppInstagram etc simply cannot be trusted. For messaging I use Signal. I will shortly cease using Whatsapp as they are part of Facebook’s evil empire.

What I hope to do is get google out of my live as much as possible. the two things that will be hardest are youtube and maps. For maps, this will mean getting road maps on paper again. For viceos, one can explore things like Rumble. The elite don’t want us. So we can take our eyeballs and our money elsewhere
