One of the things i am finding is that, now that one can stream music, is that I’m listening to Christian music or really old stuff.
The modern stuff is reimagined old stuff. I want things that are real. Kea is more visual, and she’s pruning the art work we collected in our houses. Anything she finds oppressive is gone. Because we swim in the spirit of this world, and at times we are overly influenced by it.
Father Rose answers the question indirectly in his lectures:there is music in the supermarket because it takes your mind off God. The kind of music they play is not classical. It’s not Gregorian chant or Appalachian hymns—it’s the kind of music with worldly lyrics entwined in catchy melodies that lack the sort of beauty which would instinctually cause you to glorify God. The purpose of the music in the supermarket is to contribute to your eternal condemnation.
But how could that be? Such a plan would involve a massive conspiracy from the producers of the music, the singers, the distributors, the owners of the supermarkets and their district managers, the store managers, and even the store employees who are responsible for turning on the store music system every day at 8am. It would be impossible to get them to all consciously agree and coordinate to this Satanic plan, and to that sentiment I would agree. Truth is they don’t even know that a plan exists. They are part of the spirit of the times, and by not worshiping their Creator as we were told through the scriptures, they become unwilling participants in the evil one’s incredibly intricate system to condemn the world through every means at his disposal. A thought or impulse from the demons fills agnostic minds about creating or playing the music, and because they are not actively resisting evil and have no immunity to it, they make the choice to fill our ears with sounds that offer no profit to anyone’s soul.
But this system will be shaken, and those who have chosen worldly success will be found wanting. The art that is true, is beautiful, and glorifies God will remain. And those who restore such will be accounted in a manner akin to Zerubabbel, who restored the temple.
20 The word of the Lord came a second time to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, 21 “Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I am about to shake the heavens and the earth, 22 and to overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I am about to destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations, and overthrow the chariots and their riders. And the horses and their riders shall go down, every one by the sword of his brother. 23 On that day, declares the Lord of hosts, I will take you, O Zerubbabel my servant, the son of Shealtiel, declares the Lord, and make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you, declares the Lord of hosts.”
34 So the crowd answered him, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ remains forever. How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?” 35 So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”
When Jesus had said these things, he departed and hid himself from them. 37 Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him, 38 so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:
“Lord, who has believed what he heard from us,
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
39 Therefore they could not believe. For again Isaiah said,
40 “He has blinded their eyes
and hardened their heart,
lest they see with their eyes,
and understand with their heart, and turn,
and I would heal them.”
41 Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke of him. 42 Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.
Jesus Came to Save the World
44 And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. 47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”
Be very aware that those who preach tolerance have only tolerance for evil, but not good. They do no twalk in the light, and they want no one to walk there at all.
The wooden Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Bucharest’s Alexandru Ioan Cuza Parkwas found to be covered in graffiti on Friday.
The vandals desecrated the icons on the outer church walls with purple spray paint and wrote “LGBT,” “#BLM,” “ANTiFA,” “BE GAY DO CRIME,” and painted an anarchy symbol together with a crossed-out swastika and a crossed-out cross.
Romanian Patriarchate spokesman Vasile Bănescu described the desecration that took place Thursday night as a new blow to the tolerance so loudly claimed by various ideological groups.
“The tolerance hysterically claimed by the ideological cores of LGBT, more recently BLM or ANTIFA, strikes again. And they do what they know best: They vandalize, defile, spit out grotesque messages and, in outbursts of supreme intelligence, write their name on all the fences, including on the walls of churches,” he said, reports the Basilica News Agency.
This is another in a long series of violent acts dictated by a “hideous (neo-Marxist) eminently anti-Christian ideology” that finds favor in the media and which progressively invades and infects the Western university and social environment which has its own adherents in Romania, Bănescu said.
Fortunately, such ideas do not reign among the normal and common-sense people of traditional Romania, the Church spokesman said, but is found among an island of people “who aren’t used to holding a book, but just graffitiing with spray paint.”
We are not to be such. We know that the spirit of htis age hates the church, as it hated the restoration of the temple. But, when we can, and as we can, we shall meet. Locally. In groups. As we have been commanded. For such is the church, and together we shall give wtiness to Christ.
To the nations rage.
For we know that they will be shaken, broken, destroyed… but the church, instead, will storm the gates of hell.
