It’s May Day, and the progressives are continuing their victory parade, because every day is day Zero. I had difficulty working how to introduce these passages, because it is clear that Amos indicates that a nation that rejects God will be destroyed. The implication is that even without the law of Moses that there is the law of God written in peoples conscience, so there is no excuse.
So I inhaled some more coffee. It’s Saturday Morning, the sun is shining in the Antipodes. And the Billy Graham Evangelical Association is being banned from the Woke West Coast.
Franklin Graham and the BGEA follow historic Christian and biblical teaching that sex is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman and that God made human beings unalterably male and female. These historic Christian doctrines are apparently grounds for cancelation, even in the case of Franklin Graham, whose global charity Samaritan’s Purse not only provides emergency aid during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic but also delivers shoeboxes of Christmas presents to needy children around the globe.
As Al Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, put it, “You cancel a dinner by one of the most famous Christian organizations in all of American history in the name of diversity and inclusivity. That only works by the way if you take the definition of those words and turn those definitions on their head.”
People in left-leaning cities like Seattle may regard police as the dregs of society, a systemically racist institution. Yet even the police are too good for those horrific evangelical Christians.
I have many people I care for in the USA. Comes from blogging and being part of the Anglosphere. I need to say to them, Get the Hell out of the Woke Cities. Because their time is going to end. You cannot mock the almighty forever, and you cannot debase families and expect them to stay.
And the politicians we have mock those who remain faithful to God, to Queen, and country.
This will not last. Either the immigrants will take over, or there will be revival. I need to pray more for revival.
7 “Are you not like the Cushites to me,
O people of Israel?” declares the Lord.
“Did I not bring up Israel from the land of Egypt,
and the Philistines from Caphtor and the Syrians from Kir?
8 Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom,
and I will destroy it from the surface of the ground,
except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob,”
declares the Lord.
9 “For behold, I will command,
and shake the house of Israel among all the nations
as one shakes with a sieve,
but no pebble shall fall to the earth.
10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword,
who say, ‘Disaster shall not overtake or meet us.’
11 “In that day I will raise up
the booth of David that is fallen
and repair its breaches,
and raise up its ruins
and rebuild it as in the days of old,
12 that they may possess the remnant of Edom
and all the nations who are called by my name,”
declares the Lord who does this.
13 “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when the ploughman shall overtake the reaper
and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed;
the mountains shall drip sweet wine,
and all the hills shall flow with it.
14 I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel,
and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them;
they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine,
and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 I will plant them on their land,
and they shall never again be uprooted
out of the land that I have given them,”
says the Lord your God.
30 And he said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, 32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
Do not be afraid of the smallness of your church and the few who are faithful. There is a winnowing coming, and it may be in a means you don’t expect. Look instead to the times of the empire, when twelve took the empire and turned it upside down. Because they had been with Jesus.
You are here, now, because it is time that there is a witness to Christ. The sides are becoming clearer day by day. Choose wisely, for the converged side is in love with death, now and in the life to come.
But we are instead to glorify God and enjoy him forever.
