What do you say to someone who is going through bad times? At times there are no words that are not cliches. The suffering is very real, and much of it right now is either persecution or the consequences of a deliberate programming of dysfunctional choices within our society. Hat tip to Didact, whom I won’t link to because that post has busted three browsers, but the good Captain got it correct, with a couple of redactions: I try to make this a little more family friendly.
Employers love desperate, financially crippled employees because beggars can’t be choosers. Employers can get away with paying financially desperate people a lower wage than somebody with a degree in engineering who has four offers on the table. This increases their profits by trillions and is one of several reasons median wages have remained stagnant in the past 40 years. It is also one of the main reasons the wage gap exists. You might ask, “Well wouldn’t women return to school to get a good degree or a trade?” But remember, The … industrial complex has thoroughly sold women on the lie they’re being oppressed and discriminated against, not that they chose a poor field. Furthermore, they also sold women on the lie they’re entitled to work in a field they’re “passionate about.” These two lies damn women to slave away at sub-par wages for decades, often times their entire lives, cumulatively providing trillions in lower labor costs to the corporate sector of The … Industrial Complex.
Still, corporations aren’t done sucking the blood out of women yet because even though women may be drowning in debt, that doesn’t mean they can’t be squeezed for even more. Women do make money. They do have salaries. Plus the banking sector within The … Industrial Complex is nothing but eager to lend these women money at very profitable rates on those salaries. All of which can be spent on consumer spending, further increasing corporate profits. And who cares if this additional debt enslaves women for the rest of their lives? According to their programming they were entitled to “have it all.” And besides, “YOLOammirite?”
Seen this up close and personal all my life. Generation Jones, remember? We were marketed… from Marlboro to Virginia Slims to “just say No to Drugs” to over valued cars, bikes, houses. Many people have a pile of things that they have to pay for, and then wonder why they don’t sleep, or they are frightend all the time.
What COVID could have done was be a circuit breaker, but what the media are trying, and the government, is to get us to go into debt again and spend so they can get their VAT, sales tax, and the money can circulate. If this destroys your health it becomes another profit centre.
It is far better to wait on the LORD, and not be that jealous, covetous, lustful or enraged. The four emotions that the media want you addicted to.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen for His own inheritance.
13 The Lord looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of mankind;
14 From His dwelling place He looks out
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 He who fashions the hearts of them all,
He who understands all their works.
16 The king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not rescued by great strength.
17 A horse is a false hope for victory;
Nor does it rescue anyone by its great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who wait for His faithfulness,
19 To rescue their soul from death
And to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart rejoices in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
22 Let Your favor, Lord, be upon us,
Just as we have waited for You.
1 Corinthians 15:42-49
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So also it is written: “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” The last Adam was a life-giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. 48 As is the earthy one, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly one, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.
Over the last year there have been many people whom we know who have had physical illnesses: some severe. In the end, we are all going to face death, and that will come from some form of accident, disaster or disease and we need to understand that we are going to something better.
In the meantime, we are to bring glory to God. All good we do comes from God.
Every moral and good and truthful thing that we have done and will do comes solely from God; He should receive all the credit, because at that moment you did good or spoke the truth, you allowed the will of God to flow through you as He intended with your creation.
But how about when an atheist speaks the truth? Or when a homosexual does a good deed? Or when a Jew cares for his neighbor? God made us in His image, and so we are made to do good deeds. God loves His creations to such an extent that He has mercy on us all, even those who hate Him, and allows them to participate in His good by serving as a light of some luminosity to the world, no matter how faint, but I must insist that it is far easier to do good when you are in direct communion with God, when you worship His Son, the second person of the Holy Trinity, who you will have to pass through on the way to the Father. Performing the occasional good deed is not enough to go to heaven. Being a “good person” is not enough to enter Paradise. Until then, God will do all he can to block your heart from becoming enveloped in total darkness.
This world want us enslaved, poor, despairing, manipulable, and addcted to something they can market, even if it is Tim Tams. Christ came so that we can be free.
This world sees us as fungible economic units: Christ sees us as of infinite value, so great that he died so we could be free.
This world says we only live once, so squeeze all pleasure out of today. Christ says the life to come is far greater than the peak experiences we have now.
The world lies.
Choose not to agree with the lies. Live for Christ, and let that be your witness. Use words when you need to.
