There is a lot of destruction in the dsmantling of all that was good and prpoer, and kaing it woke. As Adam points out, the Scouts were basically toast in the 70s. In the final stages of the destruction of an organisation, everyone knows it is skin suit, and no one cares about what is said by them. At all.

And people walk away.

This is the way of the world. Voting with your feet iand your wallet is the wone vote that remains, because the ballot box is gamed.

But... this world is not the end. There is one to come. And the promises for that world arer beautiul. In part, we have some comforts in this life, but we have many tears. But in the life to come, the tears will become joy.

Isaiah 65:17-25
17 “For behold, I create new heavens
and a new earth,
and the former things shall not be remembered
or come into mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice for ever
in that which I create;
for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy,
and her people to be a gladness.
19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem
and be glad in my people;
no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping
and the cry of distress.
20 No more shall there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not fill out his days,
for the young man shall die a hundred years old,
and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed.
21 They shall build houses and inhabit them;
they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 They shall not build and another inhabit;
they shall not plant and another eat;
for like the days of a tree shall the days of my people be,
and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labour in vain
or bear children for calamity,
for they shall be the offspring of the blessed of the Lord,
and their descendants with them.
24 Before they call I will answer;
while they are yet speaking I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall graze together;
the lion shall eat straw like the ox,
and dust shall be the serpent's food.
They shall not hurt or destroy
in all my holy mountain,”
says the Lord.

John 14:18-31
18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.
25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. 28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, 31 but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.

When I read this, there is an accuser, that says that I don't keep the words of Christ, for I am imperfect. But Chrst never demanded perfect obedience. he sent his spirit into this world so that we would be able to resist the temptations that remain.

The way of Christ is not easy. it requires regular cofession of ones faults, and an understanding of how to manaage the sins that easily beset us. None of us are perfect: none of us are without sin. Instead we trust the promosise of Christ who was without sin.

Whom the world could not stand, and who was executed for his righteousness. In that, our sins were dealt with.

And we are now free to obey him, and walk in th elight.

This world wants us trapped in our colour on their rainbow. Or case out, if we don't fit their model. But Christ calls all, regardless. For we can stop putting our idenity in our sins, and put it instead in Christ.
