I hate it when the pattern you see coming comes to fruition. There was one, repeat one, case of COVID in Devonport. The gentleman was a good member of the team of five million, and used his tracking system. His wife is tested and negative.

As a result the entire country is locked down for three days, and Auckland for seven. Last night was frantic. My employer said we have to work at home and that the buildings will be locked at midnight. Everyone went in and grabbed what they needed to work remotely.

The queues for the supermarkets were long. To get in, to get through, and to get paid. We managed to get what we need and we pray it is only three days.

THe question is why now, and why this. For trials only are allowed by the hand of God, and that hand is just.

Mark 8:14-21

14 And the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and did not have more than one loaf in the boat with them. 15 And He was giving orders to them, saying, “Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and the leaven of Herod.” 16 And they began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread. 17 And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet comprehend or understand? Do you still have your heart hardened? 18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember, 19 when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.” 20 “When I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” And they said to Him, “Seven.” 21 And He was saying to them, “Do you not yet understand?”

Kea and I have been counting our blessings. We have enough food. God will provide, as he did for the disciples.

We need to not fall into the lies of the elite. Because I don’t think the virus cares how compliant you were with the rituals of the pandemic: the mask, the social distancing, the engineered despair.

There are four new cases of Covid-19, including a fully vaccinated nurse at Auckland Hospital – all have the Delta variant and all are linked to the Devonport case that led to New Zealand entering a snap lockdown overnight.
Health officials are making immediate moves to try to reduce the risk of an outbreak at the hospital.
The Prime Minister’s office has confirmed there are four new cases, all linked to the original Auckland case. It includes a fully vaccinated nurse from Auckland City Hospital.
The Prime Minister’s office has also confirmed it is the Delta strain of the virus.
An email sent to Auckland District Health Board staff says a staff member has tested positive for Covid-19.

The progressive elite are being examined and found wanting. The have said they are richly dressed, and are naked.

Hang on. Control what you can. Make plans to get through. And expect in NZ the elite to rage and enforce their will with truncheon and the armed forces, as they have in NSW.

Because they have lost the agreement of the people. And they have forgotten that Kiwis are creative in their noncompliance.

Don’t trust others, especially government, for your survival… Food, water, heat, etc in particular.

I’m sorry your contry is in such turmoil. Ours is as well, of course. One of the ways we avoid the panic is by avoiding the news media.

Living in Florida while Ron Desantis is still in office has provided a buffer of sorts, with life mostly normal here. For now, with the exception of increasing mask requirements at private businesses. That one little bit, though, is a reminder that despite being open, life even here, is not normal.
