I read the passage from Job and noted that Job acknowledges the conventional wisdom: that if you do what is noble and good there will be good things in your life. Until there are not. Because you can guarantee that there will those who will imitate nobility and call good that which is evil and those people will deceive and destroy.
We have many examples of this.
The premise is that women are more conformist so will adapt themselves to the prevailing culture, but they are also more concerned with being, and being perceived as, good. If what society deems good really is good that is an excellent thing but when, as now, society has been completely corrupted by materialism, atheism and their cultural consequence which is leftism, it is disastrous. Women will follow the path of least resistance and most acceptance within the group. Couple this with feminism which, cutting through the fog of all the intellectual word-spinning and ideological propaganda, really amounts to no more than the female attempt to usurp the role of the male and which lures countless people into pursuing a path they should not be pursuing and which will not make them truly happy or fulfilled, and you see that women are potentially in an even more spiritually dangerous place today than men.
Why is there so much danger? Because the times are evil. Evil times have consequences.
- Judges become fools.
- The true king becomes a slave, probably to the mob.
- The priests are mocked and ignored.
- and there is no intelligence.
We are seeing these things now. Over and over. God is judging our nations for their apostasy.
The level of corruption of some judges and arbitrators, and the extent to which a few of the latter directly ignore the laws that specifically address and control their powers even when explicitely reminded of them, would astonish you.
They will literally declare that black is white, that three months are seven days, and that “no power” means “implicit power to do whatever I want”. Spend five minutes reading some of these corrupt morons’ decisions will suffice to turn the average literate individual with an IQ over 100 into an advocate of violent revolution.
When I look at the policies of my government my brain hurts: they are that stupid. They cannot see that it is God who is bringing fire and flood, so we will repent.
Because most will not consider the word or works of God until they are in a state similar to Job.
12 Then Job responded,
2 “Truly then you are the people,
And with you wisdom will die!
3 But I have intelligence as well as you;
I am not inferior to you.
And who does not know such things as these?
4 I am a joke to my friends,
The one who called on God and He answered him;
The just and blameless man is a joke.
5 He who is at ease holds disaster in contempt,
As prepared for those whose feet slip.
6 The tents of the destroyers prosper,
And those who provoke God are secure,
Whom God brings into their power.
7 “But just ask the animals, and have them teach you;
And the birds of the sky, and have them tell you.
8 Or speak to the earth, and have it teach you;
And have the fish of the sea tell you.
9 Who among all these does not know
That the hand of the Lord has done this,
10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing,
And the breath of all mankind?
11 Does the ear not put words to the test,
As the palate tastes its food?
12 Wisdom is with the aged,
And with long life comes understanding.
13 “Wisdom and might are with Him;
Advice and understanding belong to Him.
14 Behold, He tears down, and it cannot be rebuilt;
He imprisons a person, and there is no release.
15 Behold, He restrains the waters, and they dry up;
And He sends them out, and they inundate the earth.
16 Strength and sound wisdom are with Him.
One who goes astray and one who leads astray belong to Him.
17 He makes advisers walk barefoot
And makes fools of judges.
18 He undoes the binding of kings,
And ties a loincloth around their waist.
19 He makes priests walk barefoot,
And overthrows the secure ones.
20 He deprives the trusted ones of speech,
And takes away the discernment of the elders.
21 He pours contempt on nobles,
And loosens the belt of the strong.
22 He reveals mysteries from the darkness,
And brings the deep darkness into light.
23 He makes the nations great, then destroys them;
He enlarges the nations, then leads them away.
24 He deprives the leaders of the earth’s people of intelligence
And makes them wander in a pathless wasteland.
25 They grope in darkness with no light,
And He makes them stagger like a drunken person.
17 Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 18 For such people are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 19 For the report of your obedience has reached everyone; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil. 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
What we will have, in this time and in any time, are those who will be soothing, and will not confront. Who will not seek truth but popularity. Who will listen more to the enemies of God than God, then preach as if they have received an new word from God.
There I go again, confronting lies like a Christian. Our purpose here is to get inside Professor Opal’s brain bucket and he thinks in terms of popularity, not truth. American churches kept the old, traditional ideas popular… ideas threating to Opal… thus, he hates those pastors who reject the lies, thinking that converting or exterminating them is the key to ending all holdouts.
Professor Opal is ranting because we won’t be vaccinated against the COVID, which even Nikolai survived. — his words not mine.
Mistrust those who soothe when the times are difficult. And they are.
We no longer have faith in each other as fellow citizens. We no longer have faith in our society and its institutions. We have lost faith, not just in our common, shared humanity, but in the various and sundry faiths that helped us look beyond the obvious, to perceive the natural in terms of eternal truths and the supernatural.
Look instead to the older writers, who lived when live was more hard, difficult, and frequently shortened by plague, war, childbirth or infection. They concentrated not on this life but the eternal one.
And the preached Christ crucified, died, buried, and risen: they preached that salvation was only through him.
At the end of this trial, may our nation again have turned to the cross. May our churches again preach truth.
Though the teeth of the elite grate. But Christ never called us to be like them.
