Administration (Bye Gutenberg, link changes)

We are at Level 2, which means that the work week is now done from work. We can get more things done, provided we stick to the rules. Unless, of course we are of the elite.

Being Kiwis, we smile, and do the opposite.

I feel at times I have acquired some of Adam’s traffic inadvertantly. Because of time differences, I often read his posts before most others, comment, and then not infrequently post on what he wrote. Then the traffic builds — particularly when his site crashes.

Mate, get a DDOS filter up.

You are generally over the target when this happens.

As far as editors, I  have installed the classic editor as of this post (which is half written in transition). This allows me to use the visual editor but gets rid of blocks and (big props) allows me to work in text again.

Some days I want to import this into ghost and leave the improvements in block editing behind.

Deleted Will S’ blog as it is now quiescent, and one of the Linux links to computer companies that preload linux: it is now out of date. Instead I’m linking to the manjaro hardware page, with one caveat: you can’t get any Pine hardware at the moment. Lack of chips, lack of logistics. Given the current situation, for personal reference when I need such, I’ve linked to a local retailer of thinkpads, including refurbished ones. Thinkpads generally grok linux.

I’ve added Wintry Knight. I don’t link to him enough, but he is on topic a fair amount of the time. He’s best when sarcastic. He’s under Protestant at present.

During the 2020 election, a number of prominent evangelical Christian leaders came forward to say how Joe Biden would make a much better president than Donald Trump. They liked everything about Joe Biden. They liked opening the borders. They liked giving Afghanistan to the Taliban. They liked nuclear deals with Iran. They liked redistribution of wealth by a centralized secular government.

But what they like best of all was abortion. Abortion, they said, is the most wonderful thing in the world, because it allows allow young people to have reckless irresponsible sex, then kill any children that result from that, so the adults can be happy. This is feminism, and feminism is so good!

Evangelical leaders are especially happy with their boy Joe Biden this week.

I’ve added Jim Kunstler to the blog list. Yes he is a doomonger, and probably hangs best with the more pessimistic economists and optimistic survivalists. A quick sample. Fair warning: Jim swears more than the Manatee.

Then… this is no longer a free society? Oh, but it is… as long as you take as many vaxes as we can force you to take… and, by the way, don’t badmouth the vaxes. We will find out and we will deal with you. We’ll come for you. We’ll take away your access to banking. We’ll sic federal agencies on your case. You will become a non-person, perhaps an unperson! There, that’ll fix you!

That pin on the national grenade I’ve been alluding to…? I think Ol’ White Joe pulled it yesterday. Something big is going to blow now. I’m thinking: what remains of the American economy is what’ll blow. You see, those 80-million of our fellow countrypersons remain unvaxed for a good reason. This vax has got a rather bad reputation.

Clusterfuck Nation.

I have moved the synlogos link to the mixed linkage, this now covers almost all the places I go most days.

I need to think more about the warning blogs. In part, because I think the time for warning is past. We are in the Crisis.

To quote Remus again, Stay away from crowds.
