Christianity is not about ethics, or rules, or good behaviour. None of us are good. We are all broken. We are not saved by keeping the rules but by the blood of Christ. It is the pagans who require loyalty tests and ethical discourse, because they know the times are evil and they want to weaponize the oaths they force us to take against us.

The main introduction comes from Bruce Charlton. You have to read the whole thing. I’m quoting extracts.

It seems that everybody in the world is obsessed with ethics – governments, bureaucrats, corporate executives, the mass media, doctors, scientists, advertisers, soldiers and the police all speak publicly on ethical issues, and on all issues, in an ethical fashion… endlessly.

Implicitly, our world is ruled on the basis that The Establishment are ethical authorities – who tell us what is good, and make us do it.

Plus, of course, priests and pastors – their sermons and lectures are nearly always about ethical matters.

It now strikes me that it has been a colossal civilizational error to try and base our religion, our society, our lives – on ethics.

An error because if ethics is not really the bottom line, then building structures which rest upon ethics Will Not Work: and experience shows that they don’t work!

Vast, officially-endorsed – but free-floating, un-rooted – ethical ‘structures’ like the United Nations Universal (!) Declaration of Human Rights – or any other of ever-multiplying ‘rights’; are deviously made and used by evil-motivated persons for the manipulation of the masses into new and greater evils.

The expansion and diffusion of ethical discourse has been, In Fact, a major instrument of evil.

This ties into the passage of today. You don’t know God by ethics. You don’t rely on exegesis or education. I know plety of apostate theologians — they are the ones who get promoted.

You know God by knowing Christ, and knowing Christ makes you part of the people of God.

Jeremiah 31:31-34

31 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbour and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord’, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

Hebrews 10:10-18

10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ[a] had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,

16
“This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds”,

17 then he adds,

“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”

18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

Forget the ethicists: they are sophists to a man, woman and unicorn. Under their watch we have moved from banning abortion and euthanasia to promoting both.

Forget the religious. Those who think the sacraments alone, or far far worse, their spiritual practice, will save them. In that path lies dragons. You need to avoid the Yogi, the Jungian, the Theosophist and the Manichean. You need to shun the pagan: all these are apostate.

And to them their sins remain.

It is Christ who forgives our sins, for he has paid the penalty. Our salvation is complete. Our job is to bear witness to this.

Which we will not do if we agree with the hatred, witch hunts, and divisions our elite and their woke minions demand we accept.

But we were never saved to be like them.

Either you have ethics or don’t.. signing a piece of paper does not give you ethics…God alone can do this.
