23 December 2021, Late

I was always going to be late with this post. Today was getting family up to relatives day and dogs into care day. To make things more fun, the Bible Gateway has gone subscription only. I spent a fair amount of time trying to find an alternative. In reading around, I found that the Revised Common Lectionary was part of the Vatican II ecumenical movement. It would be better not to use it: I’d rather use the Book of Common Prayer or go back to Bible in a year.

So I am switching to the book of common prayer version, and NASB, because Bible.com embeds too many footnotes.

There is a lot more reading in this, so let’s get on with it. If people don’t like this, then please suggest an easy to use lectionary plan.

Amos 1:1-5

1 The words of Amos, who was among the sheepherders from Tekoa, which he envisioned in visions concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 He said,
“The Lord roars from Zion
And from Jerusalem He utters His voice;
And the shepherds’ pasture grounds mourn,
And the summit of Carmel dries up.”
3 Thus says the Lord,
“For three transgressions of Damascus and for four
I will not revoke its punishment,
Because they threshed Gilead with implements of sharp iron.
4 So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael
And it will consume the citadels of Ben-hadad.
5 I will also break the gate bar of Damascus,
And cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven,
And him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden;
So the people of Aram will go exiled to Kir,”
Says the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

1 Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. 2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; 5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and Or self-controlledsober. 7 For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. 8 But since we are of the day, let us be Or self-controlledsober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

Luke 21:5-19

5 And while some were talking about the temple, that it was adorned with beautiful stones and votive gifts, He said, 6 “As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down.”
7 They questioned Him, saying, “Teacher, when therefore will these things happen? And what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?” 8 And He said, “See to it that you are not misled; for many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not go after them. 9 When you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end does not follow immediately.”

10 Then He continued by saying to them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.
12 “But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake. 13 It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony. 14 So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves; 15 for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute. 16 But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, 17 and you will be hated by all because of My name. 18 Yet not a hair of your head will perish. 19 By your endurance you will gain your lives.

We need to endure. This is a time of trial. We can either trust God, or trust those who have lied to us repeatedly, for they serve a master who was a liar from the beginning. The vaxx mandates are no longer about health, and they are the current issue. Brother Didact.

If you’ve taken the original not-vaxxes – don’t take another one. If you made the hard decision to stay a pureblood – remain that way. And if you face the situation that our brothers in Europe now face, whereby their rights and freedoms are being systematically stripped from them – LEAVE. Get out of there while you still can.

Emigrate wherever possible, to freer countries. If you cannot do so, retreat from the big cities into the countryside, where the bonds of social trust are much higher and people know each other, and do not rely on governments to keep them fed and watered and safe.

As we head into Christmas, to celebrate the miraculous birth of the Saviour of Mankind, remember this, and remember it well: “true Christianity is about God becoming Man in the midst of blood and animal shit”, as OBADSDL(PBUH) so memorably wrote several years ago, and it is about redeeming Man and lifting us up from those same origins of blood and shit, into something greater. In order to do this, God had to die to Himself, so that we could be redeemed through one sacrifice, made for all time and all peoples everywhere – but only if we choose to accept the covenant that comes with that sacrifice.

That Saviour was persecuted far worse than any of us have ever been, or ever will be. He endured far greater pain and suffering than any of us. And He died the most horrific and ignoble death possible by the standards of His time.

Yet, because of Him, we have the capacity of fight back and resist the tidal wave of oppression and stupidity that comes for us.

The OBADSDL(PBUH) is Mr Day, who noted that the Anglican Church is a tissue paper tiger, and considers getting the vaccines — now every 4 months, an moral duty. Conflating his comments…

Not that there was ever any doubt about the convergence of the Anglican Church and its gay, female fake priests. Born in divorce, died vaccinated. And if the Gates of Hell prevail over it, you know it isn’t part of the genuine Church, it is judeochristianity. Stay strong in your faith.

The heritage of the Anglicans is great and marvellous and the lectionary readings they use have been around for a few hundred years. Good enough. But like the Presbyterians, they have bent too far to the spirit of the age. You need to find as pure a branch of the church as you can without falling into cultus.

Because the pattern of oppression from last century is a pattern our rulers are using as a playbook. As the time gets closer to the end, we can expect persecution.

Act accordingly, and stand. For you know the time of Christ’s return is nearing.

If you want a simple format Bible download, Project Gutenberg has some, with text, PDF, and ebook download options.
P.S. they have LOTS of other books too, all older, free, and legal

Thank you! This was a message straight to my Soul.
We are under siege right now. No telling what the autocrats will go for next. For me, the threats continue……get jabbed or lose your job. I’ve been following along here for about a year now, so I have seen the tribulations on your end. I appreciate your encouragement and heart to the rest of us out here. Many days ago I had just run across the same verse from Luke 21:15 for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute.  How so very true.

As my granddad used to say…..when you get punched in the face…Stand Up!

Peace and Love to everyone here during this most beautiful of seasons!
